In Osh, the scheme of "free" transportation for foreign students has been uncovered.
According to available data, some students pay for their ride online only once and then share an image of the receipt via WhatsApp. As a result, 10–20 people use the same payment confirmation, showing it to the driver, after which they exit the bus.
This practice creates serious difficulties for drivers and disrupts order in the public transport sector.
Representatives of the municipal transport enterprise in Osh reported that passengers violating the rules will be handed over to law enforcement agencies. "Groups of foreign students of 10–20 people enter the bus, only one of them pays for the ride, while the others show identical images of the receipt to the driver. In case such instances are identified, we pass the information to the police. Protocols are drawn up against the violators, and appropriate measures are taken. Following a recent incident, we have launched raid activities today. If violations are recorded, we will hand over the passengers to the law enforcement agencies," the organization stated.
Additionally, the press service of the Osh Department of Internal Affairs noted that after a video appeared on social media, two foreign students were identified, and explanatory conversations were held with them. "After the video spread on social media, we identified two students and conducted explanatory work with them. This information was communicated to the management. Today, we are conducting similar activities in educational institutions among foreign students and citizens using public transport," the Department of Internal Affairs added.
Currently, control over compliance with payment rules for public transport has been significantly strengthened, and raid activities are ongoing.
