The benefit will apply to municipal transport in Bishkek and Osh
Starting next year, pensioners who have worked in law enforcement agencies will be able to use public transport for free. A draft resolution developed by the Bishkek city administration is currently being discussed with the public.
According to the proposal, the benefit will be granted to pensioners from the following agencies:
— Ministry of Internal Affairs,
— State Penitentiary Service,
— State National Security Committee,
— Ministry of Defense,
— Ministry of Emergency Situations,
— Border Service of the GKNB,
— Prosecutor's Office,
— Special Communications Service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The right to free travel will be granted to men from 50 years old and women from 45 years old.
The document also implies that local authorities will receive compensation for travel expenses from the republican budget.
Currently, the project is in the discussion stage, after which it will be submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers and local councils. If the resolution is adopted, pensioners in law enforcement will be able to start using free transport from the new year.
