During the meeting, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health, Dosmambetov expressed gratitude to the UN system for its support in implementing health reforms. He emphasized the importance of the work of UN agencies in developing and implementing the National Action Plan aimed at ensuring medical and sanitary safety, as well as in public health legislation and programs that ensure equal access to medical services.
The minister outlined the main priorities that will define the work of the new team at the Ministry of Health:
- prevention of non-communicable diseases;
- promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
- strengthening immunization;
- protection of maternal and child health;
- reduction of maternal mortality.
It was also noted that further development of digital technologies in healthcare is required, including the implementation of electronic medical records, telemedicine, and the establishment of a situational center for rapid response.
Dosmambetov expressed hope for continued assistance from the UN system in equipping medical institutions with modern equipment, expanding opportunities for internships and training of medical personnel abroad, as well as sharing international experience.
Antje Grave confirmed the UN system's readiness to deepen cooperation with the Ministry of Health. She mentioned that Kyrgyzstan is participating in a global digital transformation program supported by the UN and offered assistance in the areas of digitization, immunization, maternal and child health protection, as well as in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the discussion, the parties addressed issues of strategic planning of the UN system for 2026-2027 and the preparation of a new five-year framework cooperation document for the period 2028-2032, emphasizing the need for active participation of the Ministry of Health in determining the priorities of joint work.
