The Deputy Director of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of the Bishkek City Hall, Abdyjaparkul Janbolotov, stated on the air of "Birinchi Radio" that the work on the extension of Bakayev Street should be completed this year. Residents often complain about delays in the project, which has been ongoing for the third year now.

According to him, the extension of the street was initiated in November 2024. Last year's work was nearly completed, but there were difficulties with the relocation of utilities.

There were thermal networks in this area, which have been successfully relocated. However, there were also two gas lines, for the relocation of which "Gazprom" needed time for preparation and project approval, causing a year-long delay. Now that "Gazprom" has completed its work, road workers are ready to resume asphalting and plan to finish it this year.

Additionally, Janbolotov mentioned that the relocation of gas utilities was not the only difficulty. Problems also arose with drainage: a sewage system is currently being constructed, which should connect to the Ala-Archa River.

He also noted that there are challenges with clearing the territory, as some plots were transferred to private ownership in 2022 and are listed in the "Red Book." Authorities explain that it is necessary to continue the work. Some residents express doubts about the feasibility of this section, but Janbolotov emphasized that the street will continue from Bokonbaev with the construction of a bridge over the Ala-Archa River and will connect to Beyshenalieva Street.

In addition, he reported that the reconstruction work on the southern side of Deng Xiaoping Avenue, L. Tolstoy Street from Termchikova Street to Frunze Street, and Auezov Street from Jibek Jolu Avenue to Salieva Street has been postponed to 2026.
