Every Sunday, a large market takes place in At-Bashy, but for the residents, it becomes a real challenge. Despite the market having a commercial status, its infrastructure leaves much to be desired, causing numerous complaints from local users.

The main complaints are related to safety and sanitary conditions. Local residents report a troubling situation at the market. Due to poorly prepared roads and old tethering posts, large cattle sometimes escape, creating dangerous situations for passersby. Additionally, the toilets are in terrible condition—cramped and dirty, causing dissatisfaction among both buyers and sellers.

Narynbek Zholamanov, the head of the "Dordoy" livestock market in the At-Bashy district, reminded that this site was acquired by the "Dordoy" association in 2017 and has since been undergoing modernization.

Roofs have been installed over the clothing stalls, and the walkways have been paved with cobblestones. Canopies and separate zones for cows and sheep have appeared, as well as stands for securing animals. As part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KR's "Safe City" program, three surveillance cameras are operational in the area, accessible to law enforcement agencies. "We are now paying special attention to the sanitation of the toilets: they will be regularly cleaned, some facilities will be renovated, and the number of places for men will be increased," he stated.

Local residents believe that the main problem lies in outdated legislation. The market was built in 2005, when older standards were in effect. Since 2015, new, stricter sanitary and technical requirements for agricultural facilities have come into force.

According to modern standards, the market must be located at least 200 meters away from residential buildings and at least 30 meters from roads.
