
The minister reported on the progress of the agreement involving three countries.
At a meeting of the committee on industrial policy, transport, and energy, Energy Minister Taalaybek Ibraev stated that the feasibility study for the Kambar-Ata HPP has already been completed.
Ibraev also noted that the work on the environmental protection section has been successfully completed.
“Currently, preparations are underway for an agreement between the three states. Uzbekistan has already submitted its comments and proposals. As soon as Kazakhstan submits its proposals, a meeting of the working group, consisting of representatives from all three countries, will take place. The World Bank has tasked us with completing the preparation of the intergovernmental agreement by April,” the minister added.
Additionally, the minister reported on a recent meeting with international donors in Brussels, where discussions were held with 11 donors. They expressed readiness to allocate $2.6 billion to Kyrgyzstan.
Funding will only be available after the agreement between Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan is signed.
