On the air of the program on "Birinchi Radio," neurologist-vertebrologist Andrey Ratинов discussed important aspects of strengthening muscles and the spine in children, as well as the necessity of massage.

According to the doctor, it is important to minimize the influence of cartoons and gadgets. "I understand that mothers often need to do household chores, and cartoons can be a convenient way to occupy a child. However, it is essential to remember the reasonable limits, according to the norms, regarding how much time children can spend in front of screens. The main thing is to ensure the child is active, offering them simple physical tasks, such as transferring balls from one box to another. These simple exercises contribute to strengthening the spine," Ratинов noted.

Ratинов also shared that a professional massage therapist can help strengthen muscles and relieve tightness. "If a child develops a certain walking pattern, some muscles may be more active, while others may be less so. Massage helps redistribute the load, relax tense areas, and activate unused muscles. If it is not possible to consult a specialist, simple actions can be performed, such as gently rotating joints, bending and straightening fingers and limbs, just to bring joy to the child," he added.

However, as the doctor emphasizes, massage is recommended only when there are indications. "Preventive massage for children is not necessary. But if there are real problems with movement or coordination, then a little help can be provided to the child, although it is best to consult a professional to avoid mistakes," Ratинов warned.
