Students of private driving schools were unable to pass the exam at "Unaa".

Enrollment Exceeds Limit

Aydai, a resident of Bishkek, contacted the editorial office of Kaktus.media with information that in October and November, when the discussion about introducing ten months of training began, many students rushed to enroll in driving schools to complete the course in 2.5 months.

She chose a driving school near her home, as classes were held on weekends.

However, it turned out that the state enterprise "Unaa" had provided each driving school with certain quotas, and in her educational institution, this quota was 145 places. Nevertheless, the director of the driving school accepted more students than allowed, knowing about the potential problems with the exams. "We only found out about this later when we were unable to take the exam," Aydai said.

According to her, 62 people were unable to pass the exam.

When they contacted "Unaa," they were informed that the exam dates were generated automatically and the database had been closed back in January. At that time, the director of the driving school, Meder Tagaybekovich, was detained and is currently in a pre-trial detention center. The training cost 38,000 soms for theoretical and practical classes, but some students spent up to 70,000 soms on additional hours. Of all, only 15 received a refund, while the others cannot get their money back due to the organization's financial difficulties," she explained.

A group of cadets who were not allowed to take the exam submitted an application to the Bishkek City Police Department through the "Tunduk" app, but have not yet received a response. They are asking the Presidential Administration for help in passing the exam and obtaining their licenses.

Comment from "Unaa"

The State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers confirmed to Kaktus.media that the cadets had contacted "Unaa" and met with the agency's leadership.

"Unfortunately, this is not the only case. The driving school did not register its students in the database on time, so they cannot take the exam. This is the fault of the driving school itself, and we cannot assist in this situation," the center reported.

Thus, the cadets will have to undergo training at a state driving school, "Unaa" added.
