This data was provided by the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the report, in 2009, there were 6 children's art schools operating in the country, but by 2024, their number had decreased to 3. The number of schools varied over the years, with a decline to 4-5 from 2010 to 2018, and since 2019, only 3 institutions have been consistently operating in the republic.
The largest number of art schools is still located in Bishkek. While there were 11 in the capital in 2009, only 1 remained since 2014.
In the Jalal-Abad region, there have been 2 art schools operating since 2011, and this level has been maintained until 2024.
In the Batken region, there has been no data on the operation of art schools since 2018.
A similar situation is observed in Osh, where in recent years, zero indicators have also been recorded after periodic operation of schools.
The number of students in children's art schools has also fluctuated. In 2009, 554 children were enrolled in these institutions, 337 in 2010, and a record 664 students were reached in 2018. By 2024, the number of students had decreased to 364.
The highest number of students in 2024 was registered in the Jalal-Abad region — 204 students, while 160 children were studying in Bishkek. There has been no data from the Batken region since 2018, and no students have been recorded in Osh in recent years.
Thus, the statistics demonstrate an overall reduction in the network of children's art schools in Kyrgyzstan, with the majority of students concentrated in the Jalal-Abad region and Bishkek.
