During the discussion, it was emphasized that with the support of UNDP, the implementation of programs for the procurement of medicines, medical equipment, and supplies for healthcare institutions continues. Currently, the procurement process and organization of deliveries are underway to ensure that medical institutions receive the necessary resources on time.
In addition, the parties addressed issues of logistics and the sequence of deliveries of medical goods within the framework of current cooperation programs.
One of the main points of the meeting was the discussion of the preparation of the Kyrgyz Republic's application for a new grant cycle from the Global Fund.
In light of the country's increasing revenues, a decrease in donor funding is expected, which requires a gradual increase in the share of national funding in public health programs.
The first application window will open in early June. A working group has been established to prepare the necessary materials, consisting of national experts. UNDP, acting as the agency responsible for implementing a number of programs, will continue to provide technical and expert support in the process of preparing the application and implementing grant activities.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their commitment to continue cooperation aimed at ensuring the sustainability of public health programs, including the fight against HIV and tuberculosis, as well as strengthening the system for providing medications.
