The renaming of geographical objects was a topic of discussion at the XIX session of the Osh city council, which took place on March 4, where the deputies expressed their support.
Changes in street names:
- Abdulla Kuligov Street, located from the intersection with T. Kasymbekov and B. Osmonov Streets to the "Dostuk" border, is now named after the Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jusuyev.
- M. Djinnah Street has been renamed in honor of the police officer Bakir Estebesovich Toktomushev.
- Street No. 2 in the village of Ishkavan (Kyzyl-Kyshtak territorial administration) is now named after Azizbek Baktyyarovich Baktyyarov, who died during the conflict at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in 2021.
Changes in school names:
- Secondary School No. 7, previously named after N. Narimanov, is now named in honor of the statesman, Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic Absamat Masalievich Masaliev.
- Secondary School No. 68 has been named after Bektur Islam uulu, a warrant officer who heroically died in the events at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in 2021.
- Secondary School No. 65, formerly named after M. Sabirov, is now named after the people's writer, Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic, and laureate of the Toktogul Tolegon Award, Kasymbekov.
Bekmamat Suranchiev added that the session of the city council also discussed issues related to the transfer of facilities between state and municipal structures. In particular, the deputies agreed on:
- the transfer of land plots to the Osh city hall for the expansion of A. Navoi Street (with an area of 1940 square meters) and a plot near the water intake on G. Aitieva Street (872 square meters).
- the transfer of a land plot of 2000 square meters at the address B. Ormonov Street, 20A (Tölöykön) to the State Agency for Management of State Property.
- the transfer to state ownership of special equipment: a garbage truck of the "DONGFENG" brand and a service passenger car "CHEVROLET AVEO".
