At a joint meeting of the parliamentary groups "Ishenim" and "Ala-Too," Deputy Minister of Health Tilek Mamadaliev reported that the upcoming doubling of salaries for medical professionals will become a reality starting April 1, 2026.
According to him, 15,000 soms per month will be allocated from the presidential fund for each doctor and nurse.
Teachers are also expected to receive a 100% salary increase. The educational community is actively discussing the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On the Conditions of Remuneration for Workers in the Educational System of the Kyrgyz Republic."
According to this draft, it is proposed to establish presidential compensation:
- for education system workers (excluding junior and technical staff) — in the amount of 15,000 soms;
- for technical and junior support staff — in the amount of 5,000 soms.
For workers with a workload of less than a full rate, the compensation will be calculated proportionally.
It is important to note that the presidential compensation will not be taken into account when calculating vacation pay and will be assigned considering all additional payments and allowances, including those provided for work in high-altitude and remote areas.
The Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan and educators have already appealed to the Prime Minister with a request to reconsider the draft resolution regarding teachers' salaries. They express concern about the unevenness of the payment coefficients for teachers of different subjects. Historians fear that even with a 100% salary increase, they will remain lower than those of primary school teachers or STEAM subjects due to the established coefficients.
According to the president, after the increase, the average salary of medical workers will reach 62,500 soms (around 50,000 net). A young teacher can expect to earn 36,800 soms (around 31,200 net). A mathematics teacher working in a remote high-altitude area with over 30 years of experience will be able to earn 97,600 soms starting April 1.
It should be noted that, at this time, official state authorities have not commented on the details of the salary increase mechanism for medical workers and educators starting from April 1.
