At the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in Bishkek, an event called "1000 Roses" was held to mark the spring season.
According to Almagul Ibraeva, a representative of the oncology workshop, this event symbolizes victory over cancer and inspires patients and their families.
“Almagul is truly a woman of celebration. Previously, we also planted trees in the park, which was her initiative. She aimed to make the days of the children here more joyful,” shares Shairbu Sagynbaeva, the inspirer of the event.
Shairbu is the founder of the oncology workshop "Together for Life," where women who have overcome cancer create products that are then sold to fund patients' chemotherapy.

Last year, the association managed to raise 4 million 700 thousand soms to help people fighting cancer.
In 2023, Shairbu Sagynbaeva was included in the BBC 100 Women list as one of the most inspiring and influential women in the world.
The representative of Kyrgyzstan received recognition on the international stage.
Shairbu Sagynbaeva herself has gone through trials related to oncology, battling the disease for three years.

As part of the event, about 1500 rose bushes were planted near the oncology center, provided free of charge by the "Zherdev Sad" nursery.
Tamara Zherdeva, the daughter of the nursery owner, not only brought the seedlings but also taught participants the proper process for planting them.
“We dream of making Bishkek beautiful and green, and therefore we want to contribute to its development. These flowers will help make the stay of young patients in the hospital more joyful,” said Tamara Zherdeva.
She added that the nursery provided 65 different varieties of roses. When planting, it is important to properly bury the root collar to avoid the appearance of wild roses instead of roses.
Almagul Ibraeva noted that each woman planting a tree or flower expresses gratitude for healing and wishes health to the whole world.

Previously, activists had already conducted similar initiatives, planting about 100 catalpa seedlings in the square at the intersection of Botalieva Street and Manas Avenue, as well as on the territory of the children's oncology center.
Almagul Ibraeva and Shairbu Sagynbaeva are women who have overcome a serious illness and openly share their experiences, striving to make the world brighter and greener. They do not plan to stop at what they have achieved and are already preparing new projects.
To prepare the site for the event, Almagul Ibraeva collaborated with the Ministry of Defense, which provided soldiers to assist in planting the roses.
Local authorities also supported the initiative, and among the guests of the event was Nursultan Beyshenbek uulu, the deputy akim of the Lenin district of Bishkek.
“Such events are very important—they give hope for life and recovery. Women see that they are not alone, and there are strong people beside them, which motivates them to fight,” he emphasized.

The district akimat actively supports the organization of such events by providing black soil and involving municipal enterprises in the work.
Almagul Ibraeva expressed special gratitude to the vice-mayor of the capital, Ramiz Aliyev, for his assistance in organizing the planting site during the previous event.
She plans to give the new square a symbolic name "Park of Life" and is already collecting the necessary documents for this. Previously, seedlings for events were also provided by the director of the municipal enterprise "Bishkekzelenstroy".
