Recently, the people of Kyrgyzstan have been concerned about the question: why can gasoline SUVs be seen in "Ala-Archa" despite the ban on the use of eco-transport? The editorial team of Kaktus.media decided to clarify this with the management of the recreation center.

According to Bakyt Ibraimov, the director of "Khan-Teniri," there are indeed three gasoline SUVs operating on the territory, but they are intended exclusively for official tasks.

The main reason for their use is the ongoing construction at "Khan-Teniri." New facilities are being built, including a five-star hotel, restrooms, and other necessary structures. Regular vehicles are unsuitable for delivering construction materials and equipment to mountainous areas due to the narrowness of the road and the risk of landslides.

Electric vehicles won't cope

"The road becomes impassable in rainy weather," Ibraimov explained. "Electric vehicles cannot pass even in good weather. Trucks also do not have access. SUVs are needed solely for transporting construction materials and items for servicing the complex, such as napkins and cleaning supplies," he noted, adding that these vehicles are not intended for tourist trips.

Emergency outings

In addition, the SUVs are used in emergency situations. The cable car operates from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. If any guests need assistance after the cable car closes, for example, due to health issues, they are taken down in SUVs.

"Recently, we had to urgently transport a pregnant woman in an SUV," recalls the center's director. "It was a necessary measure."

Schedule of the cable car

The cable car is open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM; however, it is closed for maintenance on Mondays.

New opportunities for guests

Once visitors ascend via the cable car, they are greeted with a magnificent view of the mountains. The barnhouses at "Khan-Teniri" are already operational, with the cost of accommodation reduced from $350 to $250 since March 21. For guests staying in barnhouses, the cable car is free and without queues.

Construction of a five-star hotel and restrooms is also actively underway. The hotel is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2026. "Within a month, we plan to install a glass terrace for a photo zone. The floor will be glass, allowing guests to take unique photos against the backdrop of the mountains. If the weather is favorable, the facility will be ready for the May holidays," Ibraimov reported.

Increase in visitor flow

With the onset of warm weather, the flow of visitors to "Ala-Archa" has noticeably increased. On March 20, the road to the park was congested as many headed to the cable car. An even larger influx is expected during the May holidays - up to five to six thousand guests per day.

"We continue to build facilities for our visitors and are ready to increase the number of SUVs if necessary. This will depend on the volume of construction work at the "Khan-Teniri" recreation center and the needs for safe servicing of the growing influx of guests. Our main goal is to maintain the complex and create comfortable conditions for visitors," he concluded.
