Presidential Payments to Medical Workers. The Ministry of Health Revealed New Salaries and Allowances
Currently, the base salary for doctors is 7,040 soms. Each doctor has an individual coefficient, and for family doctors, it will be increased to 2.85.
Oskonbaeva explained that the base coefficient, which is currently 3.25, will rise to 4.45 starting April 1. This means that a young specialist who has worked for a year in residency and is employed at the Family Medicine Center will receive 31,322 soms, while currently, their salary is 22,880 soms.
In addition, additional bonuses are provided for specialists working in rural and remote areas. Doctors working in rural areas will receive an additional payment of 1,800 soms, while in remote areas, the bonus will range from 5% to 50% depending on working conditions.
Starting April 1, a new type of bonus will also be introduced - the presidential compensation. "At the People's Kurultai, the president instructed to increase the salaries of doctors and nurses by an average of 100%. In accordance with this initiative, doctors and nurses working at a single rate will receive additional payments of 15,000 soms," she added.
Nuradil Karypbaev, head of the staffing analysis and salary department of the Ministry of Finance, reported that the initial plan was for a compensation of 50%, but at the president's initiative, it was decided to increase it for the main staff to 15,000 soms and for technical staff to 5,000 soms.
Oskonbaeva clarified that the amount of compensation will depend on the doctor's rate. For example, if a specialist works part-time, their payments will amount to 7,500 soms.
She provided specific examples: "Each doctor has a coefficient of 2.4. The base salary in this case will be 16,896 soms, and starting April 1, it will increase to 27,104 soms. To this amount, bonuses for experience and qualifications are added. If the experience is over 15 years, the bonus will be 8,130 soms, and for the first qualification category - 4,000 soms. Thus, if a doctor works at a single rate, their presidential compensation will be 15,000 soms, and they will receive 44,900 soms after all deductions to the Social Fund, while previously the salary was only 18,693 soms. This applies to cardiologists and therapists who are not family doctors," she emphasized.
As for young specialists, their salary will be around 35,000 soms. "The salary of a young doctor without experience is 16,896 soms, and they received about 13,000 soms in hand. With such a salary, it is difficult to motivate specialists, so the shortage of doctors currently stands at about 6,000 people. After the salary increase, young doctors will receive 35,000 soms in hand, which is more than double their previous salary," Oskonbaeva added.
We remind you that the last salary increase for doctors occurred in 2024. However, high inflation has led to the situation where even after the increase, the level of medical salaries remained low.
