President Sadyr Japarov met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu
In Bishkek, on March 25, a meeting took place between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the Secretary General of the OSCE Feridun Sinirlioğlu. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
During the discussions, the directions for further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OSCE were considered, as well as the possibility of increasing the Organization's project presence in the country to implement joint initiatives.
The President noted that in recent years, interaction with the OSCE has significantly intensified, emphasizing the importance of regular visits by delegations from both sides.
Japarov also highlighted the productive work of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek, noting that 22 projects are currently being implemented. The OSCE Academy in the capital was singled out as one of the most successful projects.
In addition, the president expressed gratitude to the OSCE for its support in several areas, including reforms in the judiciary and law enforcement systems, digitalization, and improving the efficiency of public administration, as well as the protection of human rights and democratic freedoms.
Speaking about cooperation with Central Asian countries, the president noted that this is an important priority of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. He also pointed out the coincidence of the Secretary General's visit with the anniversary of the signing of historic agreements on the state border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
In this context, Japarov emphasized the OSCE's support in ensuring peace and implementing measures to build trust in border regions.
Feridun Sinirlioğlu, for his part, thanked for the warm welcome and noted that Kyrgyzstan, under the leadership of Sadyr Japarov, has achieved significant success in socio-economic development.
He highlighted Kyrgyzstan's achievements in democracy and the significant representation of women in parliament and politics in general.
Sinirlioğlu also noted that Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy is based on the principles of good neighborliness and trustful relations, which align with international norms. The Secretary General emphasized Sadyr Japarov's contribution to ensuring regional security and cooperation in Central Asia.
During the meeting, the president expressed concern about the current complex geopolitical situation, including the conflict in the Middle East, which affects the lives of civilians and destroys important infrastructure in the region.
In conclusion, the parties emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution of all contentious issues.
