Sad news has come from Australia: 28-year-old para-cyclist Paige Greco has passed away due to a "sudden medical episode."

Paige achieved significant success in sports, including a gold medal at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo in the 3000 meters pursuit (C1–3), as well as two bronze medals in individual time trials. Additionally, she won medals at world championships and World Cup events. In August 2025, Greco brought home a bronze medal for her country at the World Road Cycling Championships in Belgium.

Her mother, Natalie Greco, shared: "Paige meant everything to us. Her kindness and dedication filled our family every day."

CEO of Paralympics Australia Cameron Murray noted that "Paige was an outstanding athlete and a wonderful person. Her achievements on the international stage were impressive, but even more important were her kindness and inspiration to those around her."

Paige began her career in athletics before transitioning to cycling. Despite being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, she became one of the most renowned para-cyclists in the world, leaving a bright mark on Australian parasport.
