This decision encompasses all five disciplines under the EG: artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, sports acrobatics, and sports aerobics.
For gymnasts in artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, the opportunity to participate in qualifying tournaments for the 2028 Olympic Games, which will be held in Los Angeles, opens up. Athletes in trampoline can qualify for the Games through other international competitions, without going through European events.
It is worth noting that in 2022, the EG and the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) suspended the participation of Russian gymnasts in international competitions following the start of the conflict in Ukraine. Starting in January 2024, the FIG allowed performances under a neutral status.
