A team of boxers from Kyrgyzstan has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the World Boxing Championship.

The athletes expressed their gratitude to President Sadyr Japarov, as well as to the President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlov for their support and for the postponement of the competition's start date.

“We will do our best to win medals,” the participants confidently stated.

Previously, the start of the championship, which is being held under the auspices of the IBA, was postponed by one day due to visa issues faced by the Kyrgyzstan team. The tournament, originally scheduled for December 3, will now take place on December 4.

“We postponed the start by one day due to delays in visas for Kyrgyz athletes. The tournament will begin on December 4. All visas have been received, and the team has already arrived. Representatives from two more countries are also expected to arrive,” said IBA President Umar Kremlov at the opening ceremony of the tournament, which took place on December 2.

According to reports, previously visas to the UAE were issued to only two athletes from Kyrgyzstan, then to three more, and only after the intervention of the Presidential Administration was the rest of the team able to obtain their visas.
