Now athletes will be able to qualify for the Games not only through licensing tournaments but also based on the world ranking results.
At the 2027 World Championship, four licenses will be awarded in each of the 18 Olympic weight categories.
According to UWW information, the licensing World Championship is scheduled for September 11 to 19. The host city has not yet been determined, although the USA has already put forward its candidacy.
The final decision on the tournament's location will be made at the 2026 World Championship, which will be held in Bahrain.
