At the VI World Nomad Games, a decision was made to reduce the number of weight categories. This was announced at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency by Nursultan Adenov, head of the International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games.
Adenov emphasized that this decision is based on an analysis of previous experiences in organizing the Games. He added that a large number of weight categories complicates the organization of competitions and reduces viewer interest. "When competitions of one sport take an entire day, viewers lose interest, and athletes get tired, as many of them want to participate in several disciplines, and we provide them with such an opportunity," he noted.
In this regard, the organizers decided to keep only those weight categories that generate the most interest among the public. Additionally, when compiling the program, a balance was considered between the national sports of various countries.
Adenov also warned that placing too much emphasis on Kyrgyz disciplines could negatively affect the international status of the Games. "If we promote only the national sports of one country, it may cause dissatisfaction among participants from other states, considering it unfair. Therefore, all decisions are made thoughtfully and in close cooperation with the relevant federations," he added.
