Artem Novikov, who holds the position of chairman of the board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), has been elected as the president of the Basketball Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the board members for their trust and emphasized the importance of developing sports and supporting youth initiatives in the current conditions.
“I sincerely thank you for the trust and honor to lead the Basketball Federation. Sports and the development of youth sports culture, as well as support for youth initiatives, occupy an important place on the state agenda. President Sadyr Japarov constantly emphasizes the need for sports development, and we see significant efforts being made in other sports, such as football and wrestling. Our athletes perform successfully at the Olympic Games, and I am confident that together we can increase the popularity of basketball,” he noted.
Artem Novikov also added that in the coming months, the federation will focus on several key areas, including the development of youth basketball, strengthening national teams, and expanding infrastructure for basketball activities throughout the country.
