The event, dedicated to the memory of the champion of the Kazakh SSR Manarbek Ikhsanov, took place from March 4 to 9 in the capital of Kazakhstan — Astana. During the tournament, 14 sets of medals were contested among boxers born in 2010-2011.
Elmurat Kukenov competed in the under 57 kg category, where 22 participants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan competed.
The Kyrgyz boxer demonstrated excellent results, achieving four consecutive victories, which allowed him to take first place and become the holder of the gold medal.
