The graduate of the martial arts sports school, boxer of the Kyrgyzstan national team Ikhtiyar Nishonov, has won a bronze medal at the World Boxing Championship.
The competition took place in Dubai from December 2 to 13, as reported by the local mayor's office.
Medals were contested in thirteen weight categories, and Ikhtiyar represented the country in the under 71 kg category.
In the semifinals, he faced Kazakh boxer Ablaykhan Zhusupov. The outcome of this bout was a defeat for Nishonov with a score of 0:5, which allowed him to take third place and receive a bronze medal.
