At the World Boxing Championship currently taking place in Dubai, Kyrgyzstani boxer Ikhtiyar Nishonov won a bronze medal, as reported by the country's boxing federation.
In the semifinal match in the under 71-kilogram category, Nishonov was defeated by Kazakhstani Aiblaykhan Zhusupov.
Prior to this success, Ikhtiyar achieved victories by knocking out boxers from Australia and Thailand, as well as winning against an athlete from Moldova.
Additionally, another representative from Kyrgyzstan, Omar Livaza (up to 63.5 kilograms), reached the finals of the competition.
