Young athlete from Bishkek wins silver at international boxing tournament in Thailand

Arvaz Akhmadi, a student of a martial arts sports school, won silver at the international tournament World Boxing Futures Cup, which took place in Bangkok, concluding his performances on March 15. This was reported by the press service of the capital's mayor's office.

The boxer competed in the under 70 kg category, where 40 participants competed.

Starting from the 1/16 finals, Akhmadi confidently progressed through the tournament, winning four consecutive fights and reaching the final. On his way to the decisive match, he secured victories over athletes from the Czech Republic, Hungary, England, and China. In the final, he faced Kazakhstani Bibarys Ashyrbay, and after three rounds, the judges awarded the preference to his opponent by a split decision.

Thus, Arvaz Akhmadi took second place in the tournament, brilliantly representing Kyrgyzstan on the international boxing stage.
