The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has established a ban on the participation of transgender athletes in women's competitions, as reported by the Telegram channel "Context".

According to a statement from the IOC press service, only biological women will have the right to participate in the Olympic Games and other events organized by the committee. This will be determined through a test for the presence of the SRY gene.

This decision is aimed at ensuring "fairness, safety, and integrity" in women's competitions and will take effect from the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles in 2028. However, it will not have retroactive effect and does not affect amateur and recreational sports programs.
