The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Kamchybek Tashiev, emphasized the significance of this forum for ensuring security at the collective borders of the CIS while opening the meeting. He noted that joint efforts in protecting external borders and exchanging experiences are key to creating an effective common security strategy.
"We live in an era of global changes, where external threats require not only a quick response but also long-term planning for stability and security at the borders of our countries," noted Colonel General Tashiev.He also highlighted the importance of digitalization in information exchange, combating transnational crime, illegal migration, and developing the personnel potential of border services.
Kamchybek Tashiev also emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in training specialists, considering new security challenges such as the use of drones for smuggling, as well as cyberattacks and illegal migration.
The Colonel General noted that Manas, a symbol of unity and freedom for the Kyrgyz people, is an excellent platform for developing solutions that contribute to strengthening stability and security at the common borders of the CIS.Tilek Tekebayev, the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jalal-Abad region, also addressed the participants of the meeting, expressing pride in hosting such an important event. He emphasized that the presence of representatives from the border regions of Tajikistan adds special significance to the meeting, strengthening good-neighborly ties and strategic cooperation in the field of security.
"The Jalal-Abad region is a strategically important area through which key trade routes connecting our countries pass. I am confident that the results of today's meeting will be an important step towards strengthening trust, peace, and stability at our common borders," he added.

During the meeting, participants will review reports on the current situation at the external borders of CIS countries, as well as analyze the activities of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops for 2025 and define tasks for 2026. Issues related to research and educational activities, as well as improving the effectiveness of joint operations and countering modern threats, including terrorism, drug trafficking, and cyber threats, will also be discussed.
