Entry to Russia is closed for three deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh due to accusations of Russophobia and distortion of history
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has sent a request to verify information that three deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh have been declared "persona non grata" in the Russian Federation. This became known from a statement by the ministry.
The ministry clarified: "We do not confirm this information. The request has already been sent."
Zhanar Akayev, one of the deputies whose entry has been closed, denied these rumors. He is currently actively participating in the election campaign for the parliamentary elections.
It is worth noting that earlier the Telegram channel "Neighbors - Central Asia" reported that Zhanar Akayev, Mirlan Samykojo, and Cholpon Sultanbekova became "persona non grata" in Russia due to accusations of spreading Russophobia and in connection with a controversial bill that justifies participants of the basmachi movement and collaborators from the Great Patriotic War.
This bill was unanimously adopted by the parliament a year ago and aimed at rehabilitating victims of political repression and other violations from 1918 to 1953.
