Mirrahimov Mirsai Mirhamidovich
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, full member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the New York Academy, laureate of the State Prize of the Kyrgyz Republic (1978, 1984) and the USSR (1981) in the field of science and technology, Hero of Socialist Labor, Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honored Doctor of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Born in 1927. In 1948, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute.
A renowned clinical scientist, clinical physiologist, and educator. He is the founder of a new field of science in high-altitude cardiology and the creator of a school in this area. He has made significant contributions to the development of internal medicine sections such as rheumatology, nephrology, and pulmonology. He is the initiator of the establishment and improvement of the cardiology service in the republic, which has influenced a 15% reduction in mortality from heart diseases. The National Center for Cardiology and Therapy, founded and headed by him, has become a powerful educational and scientific-practical complex, where about 10,000 patients are treated annually. By the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy was named after Academician Mirrahimov M.M. (2004).
His name is included in the International Medical Directory "Who's Who?", "Who's Who Among Intellectuals?", and he was selected as the "Man of the Decade in the 20th Century," recognized by the American Biographical Institute as the "Man of 2000." He has been awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Order of the October Revolution, the Order of Lenin, the Order of Friendship of Peoples, the Order of N. Pirogov, Manas I, 3rd class, the Chazov Medal, "Manas-100," and the Gold Medal of the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Foundation. He was awarded the Nobel Prize by the Convention on Culture of the USA (2001) and the academic award named after I.K. Akhunbaev (2006).
In 2001, he was awarded the Honorary Gold Medal of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic "For Outstanding Scientific Achievements in the 20th Century."
He has published about 700 scientific works, including 23 monographs, about 500 scientific articles, and is the author of 19 inventions.
