Karakeev Kurman-Gali (1913),

Doctor of Historical Sciences (1970), Professor (1971), Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR (1960), Laureate of the State Prize of the Kirghiz SSR in the field of science and technology (1970)

Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Kurmenty, Przhevalsky district, Semirechye region.

Graduated from the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute (1956), Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (1947), Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (1959).

Worked as a lecturer at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, senior research fellow at the Institute of Party History, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR, head of the department at the Institute of History, member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Specialist in the history of Kyrgyzstan in the 20th century, political history, cultural development, and the history of science development. Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1968).

Awarded the Orders of Lenin, the October Revolution, the Badge of Honor, and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (4), as well as medals of the USSR.

Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1991).

Laureate of the diploma named after Academician Vavilov. More than 300 scientific works published, including 8 monographs.

Under his supervision, 5 doctoral and 17 candidate dissertations were defended.
