- In the first half of 2025, the gross agricultural output in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 437.6 billion soms. This is stated in the reports of the Ministry of Economy.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the real growth was 2%.

This positive trend is observed in both crop production and livestock. In crop production, there has been an increase in the volumes of corn, vegetables, melons, as well as fruits and berries. In livestock, there is a growth in the production of eggs, milk, and meat.

Currently, fieldwork is concluding in the republic. The area allocated for grain harvesting has increased to 602.5 thousand hectares. The total corn harvest amounted to 801.7 thousand tons with a yield of 74.2 centners per hectare. There has also been an increase in rice production — 57.7 thousand tons were harvested.

Particularly significant growth is observed in vegetable production: 1,263.4 thousand tons were produced. The volume of melons amounted to 292.4 thousand tons, while fruits and berries reached 388.6 thousand tons.

However, a decline in indicators has also been recorded for some crops. The gross wheat harvest was 515.5 thousand tons, and barley was 474.1 thousand tons. A decrease is also observed in the production of legumes, oilseeds, and sugar beets.

The main reason for the significant reduction in yields was adverse weather conditions. From May to July, there was a lack of precipitation and abnormal heat in agricultural regions, with air temperatures reaching 37–39.5 °C and soil temperatures rising to 65–69.6 °C. This led to stress in most agricultural crops and worsened their growth. Additional problems were caused by local downpours and hail that occurred in mid-summer.

Nevertheless, the improvement in weather conditions in August and October allowed harvesting to begin 7–10 days earlier than usual. The earlier and more uniform ripening positively affected the quality of the harvest: the wheat ripened evenly and had a high gluten content.

The contribution of agriculture to the formation of gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated at 0.19 percentage points, while the share of the sector in the GDP production structure was 8.9%.
