According to Baisalov, the establishment of a new ministry is a significant step towards the deep modernization of science and higher education in the country.
“Our goal is to turn universities into centers of attraction for talent, sources of modern knowledge, and important locomotives for the country's development for many years to come,” he noted.
During the discussion of the president's decree on granting special status to certain universities, the deputy chairman emphasized the differences in the results achieved.
“Some universities have already taken advantage of new opportunities and made real progress. However, there are those who are still waiting for clarifications and decisions. The waiting period is over,” Baisalov stressed.
According to him, in the coming weeks, the President's Administration, together with the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations, will more actively coordinate the modernization processes. Among the priorities are the revision of educational programs, the elimination of outdated disciplines, the optimization of ineffective areas, and the introduction of new courses that meet the requirements of the modern economy.
As a result of the meeting, key areas for reforming the higher education and science system were identified, specific tasks were set, and corresponding instructions were given.
“The implementation of the set tasks will be under special control,” the Cabinet added.
