Storm Warning: Avalanche Risk and Icy Conditions Expected on Mountain Roads

From March 14 to 15, adverse weather conditions are expected in the mountainous regions of Kyrgyzstan, which may lead to snow avalanches, snow drifts, icing, and black ice. The most at-risk roads include:

- the section from 121 to 138 km on the Bishkek—Osh highway (Töö-Ashuu pass) and from 198 to 265 km (Ala-Bel pass, Chychkan gorge);

- the segment from 55 to 115 km on the Myrza-Ake—Kara-Kulja—Alaiku road;

- from 65 to 75 and from 88 to 101 km on the Ala-Buka—Kanysh-Kiya highway (Chapchyma pass);

- from 0 to 3 km on the Krasnaya Gorka—Ak-Tash road;

- from 292 to 305 km on the Bishkek—Naryn—Torugart route (Dolon pass);

- from 201 to 205, from 260 to 290, and from 326 to 249 km on the Balikchy—Kazarmin—Jalal-Abad highway (Kok-Art pass);

- the section from 45 to 90 km on the Karakol—Enilchek road (Chong-Ashuu pass).

When traveling through avalanche-prone areas, drivers are strongly advised to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles.
