Currently, the storage of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic holds about 55 tons of gold, as reported by the Deputy Chairman of the NBKR, Melis Attokurov, at the opening of the bank's new building. President Sadyr Japarov noted in his speech that the new building has become the largest storage facility in the country, meeting international standards.

According to him, the previous storage conditions were not optimal, and often gold had to be stored in foreign banks. Now that the National Bank has a modern storage facility capable of holding up to 1000 tons of gold, the institution will not only be able to securely store its reserves but also provide storage services for precious metals to other clients.

It should be noted that in June of this year, the Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, Melis Turgunbaev, reported at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh about the presence of 52 tons of gold in the country's reserves.
