Damirbek Bikulov, Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, reported in his speech that in 2024, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea will exceed 435 million US dollars.
"We forecast a growth of this indicator by more than 30% compared to last year. During the official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, to South Korea in December last year, 22 bilateral documents were signed aimed at strengthening Kyrgyz-Korean cooperation. We highly value Korea's technological experience and are open to mutually beneficial partnerships," he noted.
The Director of the "Kyrgyz Export" Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Urmat Takirov, also emphasized Kyrgyzstan's strategic geographical position and its active participation in international organizations. He provided detailed information about doing business in the country, including the process of registering legal entities, tax regulation, specifics of the banking sector, and opportunities in free economic zones. Additionally, he highlighted key investment areas such as agriculture, hydropower, tourism, light industry, and e-commerce.
"All conditions have been created for the comfortable establishment of businesses and joint ventures. The import of equipment for one's own production is exempt from VAT, provided that this equipment will not be resold. We are ready to provide analytics and consulting assistance for entering external markets," Urmat Takirov added.
It is important to note that this event was the result of a memorandum signed between the "Kyrgyz Export" Center and KOTRA during the official visit of President Sadyr Japarov to South Korea in December 2024.
