Balanced nutrition includes products of all colors, which is especially important in the autumn-winter period when the body lacks sunlight. The Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Bishkek city administration, organized a traditional weekend fair in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. Residents are invited to stock up on dried fruits, nuts, jams, and fresh sea buckthorn brought from ecologically clean areas of the country to help combat colds.

Products such as orange sea buckthorn, mountain honey, amber dried apricots, and compotes are not only delicious but also sources of vitamins and trace elements. Medical professionals strongly recommend their consumption to everyone without contraindications, especially in light of seasonal flu outbreaks in capital schools and kindergartens. The curator of the fairs, Iskak Anvarbekov, noted that this venue attracts not only local residents but also those from remote border villages like Zardala. Organizers are actively seeking collaboration with the Ministry of Health, nutritionists, and immunologists so they can share information about healthy eating and the benefits of local eco-products.

The fair is particularly charming with the presence of guests from the Batken region. A family collective of women farmers brought fruits rich in the southern sunlight to Bishkek. Passersby and tourists stop to admire their stall filled with a variety of bright dried berries, creating the effect of a living still life. For farmers, such events are an opportunity to enhance their skills: they study consumer demand, pay attention to packaging, and learn from colleagues about drying fruits. Their goal is to make agriculture more profitable so that local men do not seek work abroad.

The weekend fair will operate until June 2026. Participation for farmers is free, but only products priced below market rates and with confirming documents from the agricultural management of the Ministry of Agriculture are allowed for sale. In anticipation of the New Year, the fairs will operate from December 26 to 31, 2025, after which there will be a short break due to the holidays.
