To maintain health and a balanced diet, it is necessary to include foods of all colors in your diet, which is especially important during the autumn-winter period when the body lacks sunlight. For this reason, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan and the Bishkek city administration organized a traditional weekend market in the square in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where residents can stock up on healthy products such as dried fruits, nuts, jams, and fresh sea buckthorn brought from ecologically clean regions of the country.

Products such as orange sea buckthorn, mountain honey, amber apricots, and compote sets are not only delicious treats but also sources of vitamins and trace elements. Doctors recommend consuming them for everyone without contraindications, especially during seasonal flu outbreaks in schools and kindergartens in the capital. Iskak Anvarbekov, the curator of the Sunday markets, emphasizes that this venue attracts not only city residents but also people from remote border villages like Zardala. The organizers aim to involve specialists from the Ministry of Health, nutritionists, and immunologists so they can share knowledge about healthy eating and the benefits of local ecologically clean products.

Special attention at the market is given to participants from the Batken region. Women farmers from one family brought fruits saturated with southern sun to Bishkek. Passersby and tourists often stop at their stall, admiring the aesthetics of the assortment of bright dried berries, creating the impression of a living still life. For farmers, such outings become an opportunity to improve their skills: they study demand, pay attention to packaging, and learn from colleagues' experiences in fruit drying. Their main goal is to make agriculture profitable to avoid the need to go abroad for work.

The weekend market will operate until June 2026. Participation for farmers is free, but the products must be sold at prices below market rates and have confirmation from the agricultural department of the Ministry of Agriculture. In anticipation of the New Year, the markets will operate in an extended mode from December 26 to December 31, 2025, after which a short break for the holidays is planned.
