Published videos show chickens and turkeys being killed and butchered among garbage, and burning clothing is used to start fires, which harms the environment.
Sanjarbek Ergeshev, head of the regional veterinary and phytosanitary service in Osh and the Osh region, explained that the relevant authorities have already begun educational work and cleaning up the area.
"Acts have been drawn up and explanations have been taken," he noted.
Asanbek Mamaraimov, head of the Osh regional office of the State Inspectorate for Environmental and Technical Safety, added that warnings had previously been issued to the workers at the bird market.
"Earlier, private individuals working at this market were given warnings, and three of them were fined a total of 30,000 soms. Notifications have been sent to the mayor's office demanding either to create conditions for the slaughter of birds at the market or to relocate the process to another place. Our team has been working in cooperation with the municipal inspection of the mayor's office for two days. We also managed to find out who owns the land, and now a fine will be imposed," Mamaraimov added.
