A representative of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan will conduct checks on carriers from Central Asia at the Russian border. This was announced by Almaz Saliev, chairman of the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Saliev specified that this officer will be part of a mobile group responsible for checking cargo transportation from Central Asia. This decision was made in cooperation with the Russian customs authorities.

“An operational algorithm for the officer's work has been developed, which is currently under review by the Russian side. He will interact with his Russian colleagues to promptly resolve any potential issues related to documents for our entrepreneurs. Oral consent from Russia has already been obtained, but an official response is still pending,” the official noted.

It should be reminded that Russia is tightening control over the import of goods to prevent "grey imports."

Starting in 2026, the Federal Customs Service of Russia plans to implement new measures to combat grey imports within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

One of the main innovations will be the requirement for mandatory official confirmation from the Russian buyer — a tax resident of Russia. Without this confirmation, cargoes will not be able to be processed and imported into the country.
