In the Jogorku Kenesh, the issue of reforming the system of state support for families with children has been raised.
During a joint meeting of the parliamentary factions "Ala-Too" and "Eldik," Akylbek Tumonbaev stated the need to review the existing system of state benefits for families with children.
He noted that despite the existing laws, the real support for families with children in Kyrgyzstan is insufficient and does not meet the needs of citizens.
"Currently, the one-time benefit at the birth of a child is only 4,000 soms, and the monthly benefit for needy families is 1,200 soms. This does not correspond to the real needs of families," emphasized Tumonbaev.
The deputy added that to ensure equal conditions for all children, the factions "Eldik" and "Ala-Too" have prepared a draft law that will propose benefits for all children under 12 years old. At the same time, support for low-income families with children up to 16 years old will remain.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, benefits are received by 163,592 children from disadvantaged families, while the total number of children under 12 in the country exceeds 1.8 million.
"We believe it is important to change the mechanism for assigning benefits to ensure equal payments to all children, regardless of their families' financial situation," noted the deputy.
Tumonbaev also reported a proposal to introduce additional support for heroic mothers in the amount of 5,000 soms, considering their contribution to the demographic development of the country and the upbringing of children.
