A new allowance for residents of high-altitude areas will be introduced in Kyrgyzstan

A new allowance program will start on January 1, 2026

According to information from the Ministry of Labor, the allowance "Assistance for Residents of High Mountain Areas" is intended to support residents of high-altitude and hard-to-reach regions.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration has already completed training for staff of territorial departments in the Naryn, Talas, Issyk-Kul, and Chui regions regarding the process of assigning the new allowance. A special module was presented in the Unified Social Security System during the training, and explanations were provided on the process of issuing payments.

This allowance will be provided to families living in remote, high-altitude, and border settlements with special status, for the third and each subsequent child until they reach the age of three.

The amount of the allowance will be 3,000 soms per month. The acceptance of applications will begin in January 2026, and the first payments will be made on February 1, 2026.

In order to receive the allowance, citizens must submit an application to the territorial social protection departments.

The ministry emphasized that payments will be made regardless of the family's socio-economic status and without taking into account the regional coefficient.
