The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration continues to actively develop the foster family system in the country. Each year, budget funds are allocated for the training of future foster parents and for ensuring proper conditions for children in these families.

Currently, there are 114 registered foster families in Kyrgyzstan, raising 250 children. There are also 31 candidates wishing to become foster parents. Since 2014, more than 400 children have received assistance through foster families.

Regional divisions of the ministry carry out constant monitoring to ensure compliance with care and upbringing standards in foster families.

It should be noted that the procedure for providing foster family services is regulated by government decree No. 622, adopted on December 21, 2020.
