Total control over alcohol and timber is being introduced in Kyrgyzstan

Among the main trends in February, one can highlight the increase in digital control in the trade sector and simultaneous measures to ease conditions for exporters. In the field of logistics, a significant innovation will be the mandatory use of electronic navigation seals. Starting from February 11, the transportation of alcohol and tobacco will come under strict digital control – these seals will record the routes of goods during import and export within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Additionally, as of February 1, a pilot project for monitoring the supply of timber from Russia has been launched in Kyrgyzstan, which should enhance transparency in the construction materials market. As support for entrepreneurs operating in international markets, the government has proposed a unique tax relief: the single tax rate for activities outside Kyrgyzstan has been reduced tenfold from 1% to 0.1%.

At the same time, the Ministry of Economy is conducting a "revision" in the field of professional services until February 18, aimed at updating the state register of appraisers and appraisal organizations. Important changes also affect ordinary citizens: taxi owners have received a temporary reprieve, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs has extended the deadline for mandatory licensing of transportation until July 1, 2026.

In the financial sector, on the contrary, strict measures remain in place – the National Bank has extended restrictions on currency exchange operations until August 1 of this year to maintain stability in the domestic monetary market.
