The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic calls on gardeners to abandon tall trees

In its statement, the ministry emphasized that when establishing intensive orchards, it is better to use low-growing (semi-dwarf) seedlings. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, these seedlings have the greatest potential for increasing the profitability of horticultural enterprises.

The main advantage of semi-dwarf trees lies in their unique root system. Unlike tall-growing species, such seedlings take root faster and begin to bear fruit sooner, allowing farmers to achieve stable income in a short period. The compact size of the trees facilitates harvesting and pruning, and also allows for the implementation of precise irrigation systems and rational fertilization, which is especially important in conditions of limited resources.

Experts also emphasize the importance of choosing quality planting material. The department strongly recommends purchasing seedlings from local nurseries in Kyrgyzstan. These plants have already undergone natural acclimatization and are well adapted to the climatic conditions and soils of the region. Additionally, local planting material has increased immunity to common diseases, which contributes to high survival rates and reduces the risks associated with the loss of expensive imported seedlings.
