Experts report that over the past year, the total trading volume amounted to 1.78 trillion soms, while tax revenues reached 2 billion soms.
According to information from the publication "Nomad," the volume of the cryptocurrency market in Kyrgyzstan is expected to reach 1.78 trillion soms by 2025. Cryptocurrency specialist Asylbek Aitmatov also noted that "there will be a quadrillion money ahead," emphasizing the growing popularity of digital currencies in the country.
The budget of the Kyrgyz Republic received 2 billion soms in taxes from this sector last year. In particular, just over 700 million soms were collected from the Dordoy market, while 1 billion 200 million soms came from patents.
This raises the question: does the cryptocurrency sector really bring in more taxes than the largest market and all patents combined? Or is this just advertising reminiscent of the famous phrases from the "MMM" program on television in the 90s?
It is worth noting that last week the global cryptocurrency market experienced a sharp decline. Economists report that the capitalization of cryptocurrencies decreased by more than 500 billion dollars in a short period.
