Turkey proposes to increase trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan to $5 billion

At a recent press conference following the meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, Numan Kurtulmuş and Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, it was announced that Turkey proposes to increase the volume of bilateral trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan to $5 billion. This was reported by Anadolu.

Numan Kurtulmuş emphasized that the development of relations between the two countries is based on bilateral agreements reached during the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Kyrgyzstan in 2024. Currently, these relations are being strengthened and are at the level of enhanced strategic ties.

The speaker of the Turkish parliament also noted that Ankara will actively support Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for temporary membership in the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States. He added that the goal is to increase the current trade turnover, which stands at $1.5 billion, to the stated $5 billion, which has been defined as a common task by the presidents of both countries.
