The fate of the workers who went on unpaid leave remains uncertain.
The process of dismantling equipment has started at the Mailuu-Suu Electric Lamp Plant, as reported by local residents on social media.
Currently, dismantled equipment is being actively removed, raising concerns among Kyrgyz citizens about the future of the enterprise.
For reference, the plant was founded in 1964 and currently produces a variety of glass products, including bottles, jars, and LED lamps.
Information about the plant's closure and the transition of workers to unpaid leave was announced at a meeting with the deputy authorized representative of the president in the Jalal-Abad region.
In early January of this year, Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev met with the plant's staff and management. He stated that the government has developed a resolution to pay off wage arrears and is actively seeking investors. All employees of the plant have been sent on unpaid leave, and those who choose to resign will be able to receive compensation in accordance with the Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Additionally, Torobaev noted that a working group has been organized with the aim of restoring the plant's operations, as well as exploring the possibility of diversifying production and developing new directions.
