In 2025, the Osh region received significant support from the state in the form of capital investments amounting to 8 billion 543 million soms. These funds were allocated for the implementation of 357 various projects, as reported by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev during his speech at the presidential representative's board meeting.
According to Kasymaliev, part of the funding was directed towards the construction and reconstruction of 133 schools, 57 kindergartens, 17 medical institutions, as well as 35 facilities in the field of culture and sports, which together amounted to 3.7 billion soms.
Additionally, this year, funding was provided for 114 infrastructure projects. In particular, the financing of 82 roads was fully completed, totaling 4 billion 348 million soms, of which 2.2 billion soms were allocated for the Uzgen–Myrzake–Kara-Kulja road project. Also, 317.9 million soms were directed towards 13 water supply facilities and 19 irrigation systems.
The head of the government noted that within the framework of transfers to support local budgets, 1 billion 329.2 million soms were allocated, and the total amount of revenues from the republican budget to the region for 2025 was about 11 billion soms, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is also reported that the region's budget revenues increased from 4 billion 731 million soms in 2024 to 6 billion 447 million soms in 2025. However, this is not enough to ensure sustainable economic development. Kasymaliev emphasized the lag in industrial production volume and issued several directives, including improving product quality, increasing export volumes, activating PPP projects, supporting private initiatives, creating favorable conditions for domestic and foreign investors, as well as developing agricultural product processing.
