Citizens of cities and rural areas will have the opportunity to participate more actively in the development of their communities.
In the Kyrgyz Republic, new Funds for Supporting Local Initiatives will begin operating in five cities and rural districts.
According to the Ministry of Finance, a memorandum of cooperation has been signed with several non-profit organizations, including the Public Fund "Civic Participation," the Center "Interbilim Osh," and "Youth of Osh."
The statement emphasizes that these organizations have joined forces to implement a pilot project for the establishment of support funds, which will cover the specified five cities and rural districts.
The main goal of this project is to provide residents with the opportunity to participate more actively in issues related to the local budget, support their own initiatives, and receive assistance in implementing projects that benefit their communities.
The Ministry of Finance will provide consultations and methodological assistance to local authorities, while partner organizations will organize training, information campaigns, and support initiative groups at all stages of the funds' operations.
"This initiative will contribute to strengthening the role of local communities in managing budget resources, increase the transparency of fund distribution, and create conditions for the effective functioning of funds across the country," the official statement notes.
